How To Get Started

It's simple! Get a bike, a helmet and get out there and go for it!

Many people choose to leisurely cycle as and when they please. However for those who enjoy cycling with others or are looking for a greater challenge and are interested in competitive road cycling, the best option is to join a local cycling club.

Is It Easy?

As the majority of us already know how to cycle, it's only a matter of checking out the best routes and places to go. Check out www.cycleni.com for a full list of on and off-road routes in Northern Ireland.

For less experienced cyclists or for those who are exploring a new area for the first time, activity operators offer guided tours along designated cycle routes enabling you to relax and enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings. Bicycle hire is often included in these tours.

Is It Expensive?

Bicycles range in price enormously and some specialised mountain bikes can cost up to several thousand pounds. However you can pick up good second hand bikes from around £50. Helmets are essential and range from £20 upwards.
