The north of Northern Ireland is ideal for gliding. Indeed, soaring pilots come from Britain and elsewhere to enjoy the excellent soaring in all seasons of the year and which have permitted cross-country flights over much of Ireland.

The Ulster Gliding Centre is the only gliding facility of its kind in Ireland and is located near Coleraine in Co Londonderry. It is perfectly placed to make the most of the local conditions which enable soaring along the cliffs and hills from Castlerock to Benbradagh at Dungiven (Co Londonderry). Gliding training is provided at one of the finest soaring sites in UK and Ireland, located in a beautiful setting beneath the cliffs of Binevenagh on the shores of Lough Foyle.
