Flying holds no bounds. When you get your licence you can fly almost anywhere in the UK and Europe. In Northern Ireland there are several areas that when you have the Private Pilots Licence are a real pleasure to fly over. The Mournes, Strangford, Sperrins, Giants Casueway, Antrim Coast to name but a few. This is only a start. In the past several local pilots have travelled to France and beyond. You can surpass even our dreams.

County Down boasts some of the best scenery to fly over plus it has a fully licenced aerodrome at Newtownards as well as fully inspected facilities and passed by the CAA and IAA – the only airfield in Ireland to have these qualities. Ulster Microlights at Newtownards is the only club in Ireland that can produce both UK and Irish Pilots licences.
Newtownards Airport is NOT a designated airport and therefore advance permission must be obtained.
