Cycling sportive’s are typically the cousin of a runner’s marathon – they are long distance, mass participation road cycling events and are becoming very popular all over Ireland and in Great Britain.
They are not races, they simply allow cyclists to challenge themselves against the distance and the clock. Sportive’s are open to all levels of cyclist but ensure you choose an event or distance appropriate to your fitness and experience as some are not for the faint hearted!
The event takes cyclist through the old council areas of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon (ABC) and covers part of the route that the professionals cycled in the Giro D’Italia.
Choose from one of two routes, 60km or 100km and enjoy the meandering country side, pass the wild apple orchards of Armagh and note many historical building along your chosen route.
