About the Event

Join local walking guide Duane Fitzsimons and explore the myths and heritage of the Lecale coast on a cliff top walk. The tour departs from Chapeltown outside of Ardglass. The route follows country roads and green lanes to the cliffs.

Along the way you will hear tales of Saint Patrick, paying a visit to his well; the viking raiders; the arrival of the Normans, seeing their legacy. In later centuries there are tales of shipwreck and the folklore of the people who live in the land.

The walk is circular and returns to the starting point. The total distance covered is 4.5 miles. The walk will last approximately 2.5 hours. Bottles of water will be available at the beginning of the walk. A hot lunch is included in the price at the award winning Curran's Bar in Chapeltown.

What to Bring

Sensible walking shoes, clothing for inclement weather.
