The Club is affiliated to the Ulster Flying Club and the British Microlight Aircraft Associatio. All Ulster Microlight members must be members of the UFC. Ulster Microlights is the biggest microlight club/school in Ireland with approximately 40 flying members. Members can fly 365 days a year weather permitting.
Tuition is available 364 days a year at the Newtownards aerodrome (weather permitting). Club membership is £116 PA for students, Full membership is £231 PA. Tuition is £65 per hour. Training is suitable for all levels - from no experience to full license and advance level flyers. Wheelchair users can participate.
All equipment is provided by the club including flying suits.
Trial lessons are available and recommended. Training on flexiwing microlights costs £65 per hour. Training on fixed wing microlights costs £70 per hour. Completion of 25 hours (minimum) tuition and 5 multiple choice exams is essential to complete the license. All of the following exams can be taken on site - Air law, human performance, aircraft technical, navigation, meterology. Coaching is provided by Ulster Microlight instructors
